①take表示花時間的主語可以是人或事物

The journey takes about an hour. 這個旅程大概花1小時。

I take one hour to get home. 我花1小時回家。

②it先行詞作主語時

It took her three hours to repair her bike. 她花3小時修理她的自行車。

③take time表示花長時間

It’ll take time for her to recover from the illness. 她的病需要很長時間才能痊愈。

④not take long 用不了多久

Everything should be easy to prepare and not take long. 所有的東西應該便于準備，并且不會花費太長的時間。

press常見的意思是“壓”，20世紀初以前，印刷機都是要靠滾輪沾墨水，壓印上去的。所以press就有了印刷機的意思。

說到這個“壓”，press也是一個詞根。

compress,com表示一起，一起向中間壓，就是“壓縮”

depress，de表示向下，向下壓，就是“壓低”，“跌價”
