聲音從大的方面分類：真聲和假聲，其中真聲要占我們歌唱中的大部分，主要集中在中丶低音區，而假音雖占小部分，但在歌曲情感表達中卻顯得十分重要，我們先來看一張真聲和假聲工作時的原理圖：

從圖解中我們可以看出，真聲是聲帶主體發聲，假聲是聲帶邊緣發聲；
