氨水又稱阿摩尼亞水，主要成分為三價氫化鈉和水分子，是氨的水溶液，無色透明且具有刺激性氣味。氨氣的熔點為零下7攝氏度，沸點36攝氏度，密度為每克0.91立方厘米。氨氣易溶于水、乙醇。易揮發，具有部分堿的通性，氨水由氨氣通入水中制得。氨氣對眼、鼻、皮膚等具有刺激性和腐蝕性，主要用作化肥。
氨水凝固點與氨水濃度有關，常用的濃度凝固點約為零下35攝氏度，與酸中和反應會産生熱，有燃燒爆炸的危險。
